My Forward to the Book:

Hello,

Xin on Carnival Breeze

Xin on Carnival Breeze

My name is Xin Zhang. It gives me great pleasure to write this introduction to “Secrets and Tips of a Cruise Insider” by my friend Mr. Everett Hale. I have known Everett for about 8 years or so now. Since the beginning, I remember him as being a big traveler and cruise aficionado. Since we first me he has not slowed down and his cruising adventures continue. Everett has been on over 125 cruises in just about every part of the world. So, you can imagine all the experiences he has had over the past decades of cruising. He has learned through experience how to plan a cruise, what to pack, the best deals on ships, the best excursions and where and when to dine. The good news is that you don’t have to take 125 cruises to learn the tips, Everett is sharing many of them in this book.

My family is much newer to cruising. We only started a couple of years ago, and have only been on a few cruises, but enough to know we plan on taking many, many more. This book was very beneficial because it gave us quite a few tips that we can use and plan to implement on our next cruise out of Galveston, Texas on the Carnival Breeze in December. I particularly found the tips on avoiding the long lines during boarding to be very helpful because I really don’t like waiting in lines. The section on how and what to pack was also very informative. A confession, I tend to over-pack by a lot. We like the elegant nights and tend to dress up most nights for dinner. Plus, we take a lot of pictures. Thus, I end up packing way too many clothes for all of us. Everett’s tips on packing helped me cut down quite a bit without losing the essentials.

Another thing I learned from Everett was how to get the best prices on cruises. Once I found out how much I could save on cruises, hotels, resort vacations, car rentals, airline tickets and tickets to theme parks and shows I set up my TripSpin SNAP website where anyone can sign up for an account completely free of charge and find prices that beat the other travel sites most of the time and often by huge margins. I have a recent blog about how Everett saved over $750 on a 15 day transatlantic cruise by booking through TripSpin. You can read all about it at my blog at http://goTripSpin.com and read all my other blogs as well.

I hope you enjoy this helpful book as much as I did. Please feel free to send me feedback at Xin@goTripSpin.com.

Sincerely,

Xin Zhang

Great to get this information. I have newer been in cruise but think about it many times. And have special places in mind.
You said that it´s a good information to get good prices in t it. Do they use things like Dohop or simular, or is it well thought about all the things in the complete picture when you can save this here and here? You know, all the small details which are so important.

      Hello Johann,
Sometimes the small details are very important. That is why I like offering this book to people because it it filled with many small tips and tidbits of information that make your cruise better and easier. many of these tips are things you figure out after a great many cruises but the book lets you skip the learning phase and jump right into the experienced cruiser phase.
If you are looking at a longer cruise why not check out the 15 day transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Cruise lines. I wrote a blog about it here.
Otherwise, drop me an email with your departure point and I can make some suggestions as well.
      Happy cruising!
      Sincerely,
      Xin
